RICHEMONT SELLS SHANGHAI TANG
Fashion and Lifestyle brands can successfully diversify into a broad range of accessories, including watches and jewelry. But very rarely those latter hard-luxury brands have what it takes to successfully reach out beyond their core. Bulgari , with its diversification into hotels, cafes, chocolate and fragrances might be the exception to that rule. Personally I was a fan and believer of the original spirit of Shanghai Tang . They actually captured it in some of the most beautiful east-west campaigns ever. The brand had a lot of potential but it was evident that it would never realize its potential within Richemont. So I think this change in ownership could be a tremendous opportunity for the future. Let's see whether the new owners and management will how to capitalize from it.
