LUXURY WATCH & FINE JEWELRY BRANDS STILL SEEM TO LACK DIGITAL STRATEGIES

Yes, the number of experiments on Net-a-porter and Co. is definitely increasing. But apart from China, where online affluent customers force also luxury brands to go digital with Wechat and Co, fine watch and jewelry brands seem to lack sound digital strategies. My personal belief is that the fact that wholesale still accounts for a substantial part of their revenues - with lower degree of verticalization than in fashion - and that longevity of stock (and its substantial value) held by their wholesale partners threatens the brands to adopt a more aggressive pace. Interesting that some brands still really do believe that their industry will be the only one not disrupted by digitalization. https://lnkd.in/gZtWv2C
